Navasardyan, who had represented Armenia at the “I was born to live” Beauty
Contest for women with disabilities in the Chelyabinsk city of Russian Federation,
reached the final stage winning the “Queen of Sports” nomination. This
international annual competition is organized with the assistance of national human
rights institutions.
This achievement of our compatriot
is a vivid example of personal struggle, succeeding in life and living with
dignity: this should be contagious to everyone.
Valuing the potential of persons
with disabilities and helping them identify and develop their capacities should
be a priority for all of us.
In the
video made by the Defender’s Office, the twenty-nine years old girl tells about
her active daily life and dreams: the wheelchair does not stop her from living
a full life, driving, working, doing sports, participating in different
performances, and competitions.
