The
discussion about mental health issues in Armenia is accompanied, in several
cases, by stereotypes and stigma.
Human
Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan was hosted by
the “Aravot Luso” program on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.
During
the program, the Defender spoke about the main problems related to the field,
the possibilities of overcoming them, as well as the steps taken by the Human
Rights Defender’s Office in this direction.
“The
biggest problem is the existence of stereotypes and prejudices. They give rise
to numerous other problems related to the field,” emphasized Ms. Anahit
Manasyan.
