The
Armenian military and civilian captives in Azerbaijan were subjected to
systemic mass torture.
There
were numerous cases where people were deprived from nutrition and water;
nutrition and water were given only after humiliations and severe beatings. For
example, cases were registered where the food was dropped on the floor, and the
captives were forced to eat it off the floor; there were cases where the
captives were kept staved, while the food was thrown into the trash.
Cases
were registered when only 10 seconds were given to eat, after which, whether
the captives had finished or not, the food was taken from them and thrown in
the trash. Moreover, the guards spit in the food and forced the captives to
eat.
All
of these are proved by concert facts, and highly reliable analyses which have
been published in the Ad Hoc Report of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
There
