The Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union in partnership with UNDP, UNFPA, and UNICEF.
The Project aims to enhance the promotion and protection of human rights in the country, through the development and implementation of inclusive policies, and monitoring mechanisms, as well as to strengthen the capacities of the key national actors operating in the field of human rights protection.
Within the framework of the Project, a round table discussion dedicated to the protection of human rights in places of deprivation of liberty was organized, and the annual reports on the activities of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia as a National Preventive Mechanism in 2017 and 2018 were translated from Armenian into English and printed, a manual on the standards of the National Preventive Mechanism was developed and translated.
An online application was developed within the framework of the Project in order to provide information on the issues of concern to persons deprived of liberty and their family members.
A two-day training was organized for the purpose of monitoring the implementation of recommendations made under the status of the National Preventive Mechanism and strengthening the capabilities of the Defender's Office in that field, as well as a manual on the standards of the National Preventive Mechanism was developed, translated and published.
