The Project was implemented with the support of the European Union and Council of Europe.
The Project aims to strengthen the implementation of European Human Rights standards in Armenia in the context of the fight against torture, ill-treatment, and impunity, support the alignment of human rights policies and practice in this field, and ensure compliance of legislative and regulatory frameworks with European standards and build the capacities of legal professionals and law enforcement officers.
Within the framework of the Project, training was organized for the representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office on health services in closed institutions, protection of the rights of women and juvenile convicts, monitoring methodology in places of deprivation of liberty, investigation, and fact-finding of torture and death cases, vehicles to transport persons deprived of their liberty, monitoring of court cells, places of detention of arrested persons by the police and other issues.
Within the framework of the Project, study visits to Austria and France were conducted by the representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office.
