Since April 2022, The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has been implementing an assistance program for the returned prisoners of war and their family members, and the family members of the prisoners of war still unlawfully kept in Azerbaijan. The program is being carried out in collaboration with the Armenian Rehabilitation Center for Torture Survivors, within the context of the “Rehabilitation for Torture Survivors” project of the Armenian Scientific Association of Psychologists NGO. The program includes a primary assessment socio-psychological, as well as medical assistance needs, followed by a targeted and individual work with each beneficiary to solve the problems of the identified needs. Within the context of the program, assistance will be provided to 21 families. Efforts are underway to increase the circle of the beneficiaries.
