The
detainee's lawyer appealed to the support of the Human Rights Defender of RA,
regarding the transfer of his trustee to another penitentiary institution for
the continuation of detention.
According
to the lawyer, the family of the accused, including two minor children, live in
the region. Therefore, considering the social status of the family, the
distance between the family's place of residence and the penitentiary
institution, there are substantial difficulties in arranging the visits between
the trustee and his minor children.
Considering
the mentioned circumstances, as well as the principle of the best interests of
the child, the Human Rights Defender appealed to the competent state
authorities with a proposal to resolve the issue.
As a
result of the effective cooperation with the competent bodies, the issue raised
by the lawyer has been resolved: the detainee was transferred to another
penitentiary institution.
