The
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan was
hosted by the Public TV Company’s “Open Platform” program.
In
the conversation with Mr. Nikolay Melikyan, the Defender emphasized number of
important topics. In particular:
▪️ the
unacceptable scale of discriminatory, labeling speech as well as the atmosphere
of hatred during electoral processes,
▪️ the
statement, in which the inadmissibility of hate speech based on ethnicity or
national identity became the subject of particularly broad public discussion,
▪️ the
development process of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, the need for
solidarity between Human Rights Defenders.
Inter
alia, issues related to public trust in the Human Rights Defender’s Office were
discussed.
