The
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan,
summarized the 2025 activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Office during a
broadcast on Public Television.
The
Defender spoke about the sectoral challenges of the year: “2025, like the
previous few years, was marked by a very high level of polarization, which has
a serious impact on the entire system of human rights protection.”
During
the interview, reference was made to the key programs, existing challenges in
the field of human rights, cooperation with the mass media, distorted
approaches related to children’s rights and the importance of overcoming them,
the protection of the rights of women and persons with disabilities, the
courage to criticize various stakeholders, polarization of the mass media and
other actors, as well as the underlying reasons for the increase in
applications addressed to the Human Rights Defender, etc.
