The International Ombudsman Institute was founded in 1978. It is th \e only international organization that brings together over 170 independent ombudsmen institutions from more than 90 countries.
Concentrating its efforts on the development of effective management and capacity building, the International Ombudsman Institute supports its members by providing subsidies in education, training, research and programs.
The Republic of Armenia became a member of the International Ombudsman Institute in 2004, and is a Voting Member.
