Dear
older persons,
I
wholeheartedly congratulate you on the occasion of the International Day of
Older Persons.
Today,
we have another occasion to pay more attention to you, to give warmth and care.
The
respect for your dignity and rights should be of everyone’s concern. We should
make maximum efforts in our daily work to preserve those values and ensure your
social protection, participation in public life and healthy aging.
You
are the bearers of historical values, the preservers of stability in social
development.
The
Constitution of our country guarantees the right to dignified life for the
older persons. International human rights principles also require to fully
guarantee the rights of the elderly, to ensure their healthy, full and
dignified life.
This
day, as declared by the UN, is aimed at drawing attention to the issues of the
protection of rights of elderly and expressing appreciation for people who have
earned the right to happiness at an old age.
I
express my deep gratitude to you, wishing your health and a happy elderhood.
