On January 30, a training
course on the implementation of the Gender Equality Seal (GES) was conducted
for the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
The training was conducted
within the framework of the process of introducing the GES, which was
officially launched in the Human Rights Defender's Office on April 9, 2024,
marking its first official launch in the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the participants of
the training, Ms. Anahit Manasyan emphasized that the issues of proper
organization of work on ensuring gender equality are one of the important
directions and priorities of the Human Rights Defender’s activity.
The training was conducted by
Ms. Zhanna Harutyunyan, UNDP Gender Equality Portfolio Manager and Ms. Zhanna
Gevorgyan, UNDP Gender Equality Expert.
Mr. Andranik Yeghoyan,
Secretary General of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, emphasized the
continuity of capacity-building trainings for the Human Rights Defender’s
Office and the steps taken in this direction.
During the meeting, the joint
activities carried out within the framework of the introduction of the GES and
the strategic directions of the GES were summarized, and an action plan for the
near future was outlined.
The training course was
organized within the framework of the UNDP "Women in Politics, Public
Administration and Civil Society” project, which is funded by the Good
Governance Fund.
