The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms.
Anahit Manasyan, paid a visit to the Mari Izmirlian Care and Protection
Institution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of
Armenia, on the occasion of the New Year holidays to congratulate the
beneficiaries and share the festive spirit with them.
During the visit, the Human Rights Defender toured the
premises of the institution, got acquainted with the daily life of the
beneficiaries, development and care programs, as well as examined the living
conditions of the institution.
Ms. Anahit Manasyan shared the festive spirit with the
beneficiaries, engaged in warm interaction with them, and presented symbolic
gifts on the occasion of the New Year.
The Human Rights Defender conducts monitoring of the
implementation of the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities and specifically emphasizes the importance of taking
effective steps, implementing structural reforms, and adopting a systematic
approach to the provision of community-based services by the state for persons
with disabilities.
