On April 7, the Secretary General of the Human Rights
Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Nina Pirumyan, received UNHCR
Deputy Representative, Ms. Liv Feijen.
The Secretary General of the Human Rights Defender’s
Office of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Nina Pirumyan presented Ms. Liv Feijen
the scope of the Human Rights Defender’s mandate, which includes the protection
of the rights of women, children, national minorities, persons with
disabilities, combating discrimination, and other areas.
Ms. Nina Pirumyan presented issues related to the
protection of the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, as well as forcibly
displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, the current problems and the work
being carried out, emphasizing the importance and continuity of cooperation
with UNHCR.
Ms. Liv Feijen thanked for the reception, expressed her
willingness to continue close cooperation, highly appreciating the role of the
Human Rights Defender’s institution in implementing the mission of protecting
human rights.
