The
Human Rights Defender’s monitoring indicates that there are several problems in
the field of personal data protection in the Republic of Armenia, with a lack
of effective mechanisms for their resolution.
Recognizing
the importance of the issue and the need for action, the Human Rights Defender
has published an alternative report titled “On Systemic Problems in the Field
of Personal Data Protection in the Republic of Armenia”.
The
report includes the Defender’s monitoring results during 2024, recorded issues,
and recommendations for their resolution.
The
Human Rights Defender strongly emphasizes the need for the state to take urgent
measures to ensure the realization of the protection of everyone’s personal
data in accordance with international and domestic legal standards.
