On
March 25, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Ms. Anahit
Manasyan participated in the pre-session of the United Nations Committee on the
Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva.
Ms.
Anahit Manasyan was accompanied by Ms. Zhanna Hakobyan, Head of Department for
Provision of Convention Mandates of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the
Republic of Armenia.
The
Defender presented the issues and problems related to the rights of persons
with disabilities in the Republic of Armenia.
The
mentioned issues and the proposed solutions have also been presented to the UN
Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities within the framework of
the Human Rights Defender’s alternative report on the implementation of the
provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
