On
March 11, on behalf of Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan, the Secretary
General of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, Ms.
Nina Pirumyan, participated in the General Assembly of the Global Alliance of
National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) held in Geneva within the framework
of the annual meeting.
During
the event, on behalf of Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan, the
Secretary General Ms. Pirumyan, received the certificate of highest-level 'A'
status for credibility and independence, awarded to the Human Rights Defender's
Institute of the Republic of Armenia in 2024 by the Sub-Committee on Accreditation
(SCA) of the (GANHRI).
It is
important to note that this status is granted only to Ombudsman institutions
and National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) that fully comply with the
established principles of human rights protection, are independent,
trustworthy, and effectively investigate and resolve human rights issues.
The
Human Rights Defender is committed to being consistent in the proper
implementation of the work carried out to implement the recommendations
submitted by the Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA).
