On March 3, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of
Armenia Ms. Anahit Manasyan received Ms. Elada Ghahramanyan, a lawyer forcibly
displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, who is currently practicing in Armenia.
The interlocutors discussed issues connected to the
protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons. Among others, women’s
and children’s rights, as well as the activities of the Public Council on
Women’s Rights adjunct to the Human Rights Defender’s Office were touched upon.
Ms. Manasyan reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the
resolution of existing problems.
Ms. Elada Ghahramanyan expressed gratitude for the
meeting and emphasized the significance of the Human Rights Defender’s Office
and Defender’s personal role in promoting and protecting human rights.
