Raising children’s awareness is one of the key
prerequisites for protecting their rights.
The Human Rights Defender announces the launch of the
awareness campaign in educational institutions in 2025.
Throughout the year, the Defender’s Office plans to
organize visits to various educational institutions and host students to raise
their awareness about their rights and the activities of the Human Rights
Defender’s Office.
The first group to visit the Defender’s Office in 2025
was students from the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex SNPO.
During the meeting, the children were introduced to the
Human Rights Defender’s mandate and main areas of activity, several provisions
of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and topics related to
bullying, hate speech, intolerance, and combatting discrimination. The meeting
was held in a question-and-answer format.
Children were also informed about all the ways to contact
the Defender without adult mediation, including through the 116 hotline.
