On
January 21, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Anahit Manasyan, received
Tigran Karapetyan, the Head of Transversal Challenges and Multilateral Projects
Task Force of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the
Council of Europe.
Welcoming
the guest, Anahit Manasyan emphasized the importance of the stable and
constructive cooperation between the Human Rights Defender's Office and the
Council of Europe. She highlighted the role of joint programs with the Council
of Europe in advancing the system of human rights protection in Armenia.
In
this context, the discussion touched upon the activities carried out within the
framework of the program "Promoting Human Rights in the Armed Forces of
Armenia."
Along
with outlining new programmatic directions, the necessity of improving and
developing human rights education in military educational institutions was also
discussed.
