On
December 20, Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan visited
"Centralized system of libraries after Charles Aznavour" Community Non-Profit
Organization (CNPO).
The
purpose of the visit was to conduct public awareness activities within the context
of human rights education.
The
Defender referred to the scope of powers of the Human Rights Defender and the
main directions of activities.
In
her speech, Ms. Anahit Manasyan emphasized the importance of such meetings,
highlighting the fundamental principles of human rights: tolerance, the human
being as the highest value, and the guarantee of dignity.
"It
is extremely important for schoolchildren to take an interest in the field of
human rights protection. A proper understanding of the law helps foster a
tolerant and non-discriminatory environment. It is the state's duty to provide
structures that guarantee the protection of human rights and to consistently
develop them, based on the supremacy of the law and human-centered values,"
said the Defender.
A
number of issues related to the protection of human rights, combating bullying,
intolerance and discrimination were raised.
The
participants of the meeting shared their ideas about the law. During the
session, held in a question-and-answer format, they also had the opportunity to
voice their concerns.
Ms.
Elmira Poghosyan, Director of the CNPO, thanked Anahit Manasyan for her visit
and for the meaningful discussion.
In
summarizing her speech, Anahit Manasyan emphasized the importance of combining
our collective efforts and implementing positive changes in our own
environments to address the existing challenges in the field of human rights
protection.
