On September 13, Human Rights Defender Anahit
Manasyan and the members of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human
Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly jointly visited the
"Kharberd Specialized Children's home" State Non-Profit Organization
(SNPO).
During the visit, the Defender and the members of
the National Assembly participated in a concert event prepared by the students
of the “Tshakhruk” Cultural Center and also congratulated one of the center's
students on his birthday. Anahit Manasyan once again emphasized that issues
related to the rights of persons with disabilities are under her direct
attention.
The Defender highlighted the importance of state
support in promoting the creative potential of individuals with disabilities.
At the end of the event, the founders and directors of the music band, Anna and
Anahit Mkhitaryan, presented guests with souvenirs made by the students.
Private interviews were conducted with the beneficiaries of the institution
regarding the state of the protection of their rights. The visits of the Human
Rights Defender to care and protection institutions are ongoing.
