On
September 6, the regular online meeting of the Public Council on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities and Youth adjunct to the Human Rights Defender was held.
Representatives
from the Department for Provision
of
Convention Mandates of the Defender’s Office and members of the Public Council
for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities participated in
the meeting.
The
discussion focused on draft regulations concerning “The Procedure for Providing
Care and Socio-Rehabilitation Services to Persons with Disabilities through
State Certifications” and amendments to the Decisions of the Government of the
Republic of Armenia No. 1112-N of September 25, 2015, and No. 1744-N of
November 10, 2022
Concerns
and suggestions from the Defender's Office and Council members were presented
and will be compiled and submitted to the relevant state authority.
The
Human Rights Defender emphasizes the importance of the involvement of the
Public Council for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in
identifying and addressing issues of the field.
