The Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan considers extremely disturbing the fact that different circles of society are trying to justify in public speech the July 26th incident of physical violence against a child in the kindergarten of Pokr Vedi village. This is evidenced by the monitoring and analysis of social media carried out by the Defender’s Office.
The Defender once again emphasizes that any case of violence deserves serious condemnation, and the state has a clear obligation to take necessary and sufficient measures to guarantee the protection of the child from both physical, psychological and other types of violence. Moreover, proper and comprehensive investigation of such cases and the inevitability of liability must be guaranteed.
The Defender will be consistent in addressing both the above-mentioned and other cases of violence and the implementation of steps aimed at solving the problems. Moreover, the Human Rights Defender emphasizes that it is important to address not only physical but also psychological and other types of violence.
