The Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan gave an opening
remark at the presentation of the summary of the study "2023-2024 Strategy
of the RA Judicial and Legal Reforms and its Action Plan" by the Helsinki
Association.
Referring to judicial and legal reforms, Anahit Manasyan
especially emphasized that the role of civil society is extremely important in
raising the existing problems and forming a proper system of human rights
protection.
"From the viewpoint of judicial and legal reforms,
the implementation of proper public awareness measures is of primary
importance, because in many cases citizens are not aware of this or that change
or the introduction of new systems," stated the Defender.
According to her, in the context of reforms, the
organization of training courses, acquisition of new knowledge and skills for
both judges and employees of state bodies is also of key importance.
Summarizing the speech, the Human Rights Defender
emphasized the importance of ensuring a cooperative environment.
"We must be able to unite our forces around the
common idea of having a strong human rights protection system. In all these
issues, I once again officially express my commitment," added the
Defender.
