On June 7, on the instructions of the Human Rights
Defender, representatives of the Defender’s Office visited the Central Clinical
Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, and met the servicemen
receiving treatment there.
The issues of medical care and service provided to the
servicemen were analyzed, and private interviews were held with the servicemen
receiving treatment in different departments. We consider it necessary to
emphasize that some servicemen and members of their families addressed individual
complaints to the Defender.
Issues related to the course and methods of treatment of
servicemen were discussed with the medical staff.
The possibilities of realizing their rights were
explained to the servicemen, including the health exams, getting acquainted
with the process of medical examination, and receiving the conclusions and
other documents issued by their results; clarifications were also given
regarding other issues raised.
The servicemen presented the issues related to their health,
the course of treatment, and the regular service they receive.
Issues related to the health condition of the servicemen,
and the proper medical service are under the direct attention of the Human
Rights Defender; the visits to military hospitals are continuous.
