On June 4, the Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan
participated in the working discussion of the draft package of the Law On
Ensuring Equality and Protection from Discrimination and related laws organized
in the National Assembly.
The Defender noted that the adoption of draft laws will
have a great role for the society, as it will raise the guarantee of equality
and prohibition of discrimination to a higher level.
The sphere is in need for serious improvement in Armenia,
and the steps in that direction should be multifaceted and coordinated,"
stated Ms. Manasyan.
Deputies of the National Assembly, representatives of
state and local self-government bodies participated in the working group
discussion.
