The Human Rights Defender's working visit to Syunik
region continues. On May 24, Anahit Manasyan met with the Governor of Syunik
region Robert Ghukasyan, discussed various issues in the field of human rights
protection, in particular, a number of security issues of people in border
settlements related to the rights of property, education, as well as other
fundamental rights.
Individual complaints raised by the citizens were also
discussed together.
The Defender especially emphasized that along with
guaranteeing the security of the state, the guarantee of respect for human
rights and the fundamental principle of supremacy of human rights should be
paramount.
Anahit Manasyan expressed her commitment to solve the
discussed issues within the framework of the mandate.
Anahit Manasyan visited "Syunik" and
"Achanan" secondary schools of Syunik Region with the Governor of the
region Robert Ghukasyan and MP Marina Ghazaryan to participate in the
"Last Bell" ceremony.
Congratulating the graduates, in her speech the Defender
wished them never to be depressed, to be constantly educated, and to treat the
environment around them with love.
"You can face many challenges in life, never get
depressed, perceive them as an opportunity and treat the environment around you
with love. Also remember that knowledge is the great wealth that cannot be
lost. Be sure, realizing all this will open new doors of success for you. I
state this with my own example. Perhaps this is my wish for you. I also want to
express my commitment to support you in any matter within the scope of my
mandate," Anahit Manasyan.
Anahit Manasyan also met with the management and teaching
staff of the schools, toured the schools, discussed a number of issues related
to the protection of children's rights.
The Defender also handed over symbolic souvenirs to the
graduates.
