It is necessary to overcome the existing stereotypes, to
form a proper perception of the role of women: Human Rights Defender Anahit
Manasyan participated in a panel discussion under the title "It's Time to
Act: Women's Participation in Political and Public Life", within the
framework of the concluding conference on May 23.
The event was attended by female officials holding senior
positions in various government departments, as well as representatives of the
private sector.
Issues related to the leadership of women in Armenia,
their participation in public and political life were discussed. The
participants shared their personal experiences, ideas and strategies for
achieving success.
‘’This event is another opportunity to highlight the
importance of promoting and protecting women's rights and to talk about joint
efforts in that direction emphasizing the equal representation of women and men
in various fields,’’- welcoming the attendees, noted Anahit Manasyan.
’’I think that each of us has our own formula for
success. The formula for my success is a combination of two basic ideas: love
and harmony. Through love, you can find harmony in both your personal and work
environment. It is necessary to overcome existing stereotypes, to form a
correct perception of the role of a woman, as well as to promote the potential
of women in public and political life,’’- noted the Defender.
In this context, Anahit Manasyan emphasized that everyone
should contribute to the formation of a cohesive social environment by their
example, empowering women and promoting their rights, not only excluding any
conduct that implies targeting and discrimination, but also by countering any
such manifestations.
As part of the event organized by the ‘’Konrad Adenauer’’
Foundation, the evaluation film "It's Time to Act" was also
demonstrated.
