On
May 20, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan received Director of the
Francophonie Institute of Education and Training Mona Larousse.
During
the meeting, Anahit Manasyan presented the mandate of the Human Rights
Defender, work priorities, directions of activity, as well as the current
challenges in the field of human rights protection in our country.
A
special reference was made to the protection of the rights of people forcibly
displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, in particular, to ensuring the right of
children to education in public educational institutions. In this context,
Anahit Manasyan noted that from the first day she was actively involved in
fact-finding activities, the results of which are summarized in the ad hoc
report.
The
Defender also emphasized the importance of the works carried out in the fields
of the rights protection of women, children, national minorities, the rights of
persons with disabilities, the protection of human rights in the armed forces,
hate speech, the atmosphere of intolerance, the fight against discrimination
and a number of other areas, which are aimed at a strong and effective system
of human rights protection.
In
her turn, Mona Larussi thanked the Defender for the reception and productive
discussion.
