On May 10, on the instructions of the Human Rights
Defender Anahit Manasyan, HRD representatives, including the medical specialist
of the staff, made another visit to "Zvartnots" airport in order to
see the French-Armenian journalist Leo Nikolyan and learn about his health
condition on the spot.
During the conversation, Leo Nikolyan raised a number of
issues, which the HRD representatives discussed with the competent authorities,
including the police, medical service representatives. The Defender's representatives
were informed by the competent authorities that Leo Nikolyan is being provided
with the necessary medical assistance. Leo Nikolyan also confirmed this fact.
Clarifications have already been requested from competent
state bodies within the framework of the mandate of the Defender.
The issue is under the attention of the Human Rights
Defender.
