On
January 10, the Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan visited No. 3
Territorial Subdivision of Conscription and mobilization service of the
Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.
The
purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the work of the Central Medical
Commission and the examination process.
The
Defender had a meeting with the Acting Head of the Conscription and
mobilization Service of the Ministry of Defense Aren Sargsyan and the Head of
the Territorial Division Sergey Hakobyan.
Anahit
Manasyan paid special attention to the work of the medical commission and the
process of examination, discussed with the staff issues related to the process
and methods of examination of the conscripts, talked with the conscripts,
referred to issues related to their rights.
During
the visit, a special reference was made to the case of the death of
Harutyunyan, who was sent for inpatient examination during the announced
conscription for mandatory military service. Clarifications were presented to
the Defender on the spot. Anahit Manasyan stated that the issues related to the
incident are under her immediate attention. Issues related to the winter
conscription are under the attention of the Human Rights Defender, the visits
will be continuous.
