On
December 4, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan participated in the
presentation of research on "Women on Sexual Violence: Perceptions,
Experience" and "Sexual Harassment in Educational Institutions"
within the scope of the annual international campaign "16 Days of Activism
Against Gender-Based Violence" and delivered a welcoming speech during the
event.
“There
is no justification for any manifestation of violence, including gender-based
violence. I regularly point out that it is impossible to have an appropriate
human rights protection system without a tolerant environment based on solidarity.
Such an environment should be formed with joint efforts and only then it is
possible to have a society liberated from violence” noted the Defender.
In
this context, Anahit Manasyan emphasized the role of competent state bodies and
underscored the importance of their proper level of knowledge and skills
related to the field.
