"Dear
employees of Armenian Television, I congratulate you on World Television Day.
In
1996, the UN General Assembly declared November 21 as World Television Day. The
organization urged states to celebrate the day with television programs
dedicated to peace, security, economic and social, as well as cultural issues.
Television
has its stable role and significance in the everyday life of a modern person
beginning from its experimental broadcast until now, it opens new horizons for
almost all spheres of journalism, publicity, politics and art.
The
role of television in informing the public and raising their legal awareness is
crucial.
Even
today, television faces complex and concerning issues. Their solution requires
constant improvement and development of the work, approaches and vision in
accordance with modern requirements.
As
the Human Rights Defender, I am ready to do my best within the scope of my
mandate to protect your free and unhindered work.
On
the occasion of Television Day, I wish for creative work, uninterrupted
broadcasting and new achievements."
