Today,
on October 6, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan hosted Lilit
Daneghyan-Bosler, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Programs Department of the
Council of Europe. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Council
of Europe in Armenia, the Head of the third program "Partnership for Good
Governance" Natalya Adamyan and the program coordinator Tamara Barbakadze.
Anahit
Manasyan presented issues on the protection of the rights of people forcibly
displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. In particular, special emphasis was placed on
the issues raised within the framework of the fact-finding activities conducted
by the Defender.
Anahit
Manasyan referred to the serious humanitarian problems caused by the
Azerbaijani aggression and the violations of fundamental human rights, the
armenophobic policy sponsored at the highest level in Azerbaijan, which is
manifested at all levels.
Within
the framework of the meeting, the details of future joint programs aimed at the
protection of human rights were discussed. Both parties expressed their
commitment to close cooperation in these endeavors.
