On the instructions of the Human Rights Defender, the rapid
response groups visited to the Police Departments within the framework of the
incident of arresting the people assembling in the Republic Square.
Private interviews will be held with the detained persons and
the grounds for detention will be investigated.
The Human Rights Defender once again calls on the participants
of the gathering to exercise restraint and follow the requirements set by the
legislation. The Defender also emphasizes that the use of force by competent
state bodies should be proportionate.
