Today, on August 2,
the Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan, received the Head of the EU
delegation, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary H.E. Andrea Wiktorin
who is completing her diplomatic mission in Armenia.
“Your Excellency Ms.
Wiktorin, I highly value the strong cooperation formed between our institutions
in the field of human rights protection. Your personal contribution and
dedication to the activities carried out is extremely high. I would like to
thank the EU efforts and program support aimed at the development of the
institution, the protection of various spheres of human rights, especially the
fight against hate speech, discrimination, and the promotion of women's
rights" stated the Defender.
Within the framework
of the meeting, Ms. Manasyan presented the humanitarian situation as a result
of the blocking of the Lachin corridor, the abduction of a 68-year-old citizen
who was being transported to Armenia for treatment under the auspices of the
International Committee of the Red Cross. In this context, the Defender underlined
the importance of the international community's response and of taking the
necessary measures, including by various EU institutions and officials.

also expressed her gratitude for the constructive work, and wished a stable development.
