On July 4-5, Mariam Tonoyan and Tigran Manukyan, members
of the Public Council on the Rights of Children and Youth adjunct to the Human
Rights Defender, participated for the first time in the European Network of
Young Advisors (ENYA) forum organized by the European Network of Ombudspersons
for Children (ENOC) in Malta.
In the framework of the event entitled “Let's Talk Young,
Let's Talk about Protecting and Promoting Children's Rights”, children
presented recommendations regarding the powers and accessibility of human
rights institutions, raising awareness about the activities of ombuds institutions
among children, ensuring children's involvement, participation and a number of
other issues. The members of the Council also actively participated in group
work and discussions and delivered speeches.
18 groups participating in the forum developed
recommendations that will be presented at the European Network of Ombudspersons
for Children (ENOC) conference in September 2023.
