Today, on June 16, the Human
Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan published the ad hoc report on the
humanitarian consequences of the blocking of the Lachin corridor.
In the report, the Human
Rights Defender referred to the human rights violations caused by the blocking
of the corridor and the installation of the checkpoint, the statements made by
high-ranking Azerbaijani officials, public and political figures containing
Armenophobic expressions, hate speech, threats of use of force, as well as the
reaction of the Azerbaijani society to the installation of the checkpoint.
It has been registered that
the statements of the Azerbaijani officials since the blockade of the Lachin
corridor indicate that both the rallies of the alleged environmental protests
and the installation of the checkpoint are aimed at depriving the Armenians of
Artsakh of vital goods and services, creating a humanitarian crisis and forcing
people to leave their homes.
The ad hoc report on the
violations of the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh have been sent to
international organizations and actors mandated with the protection of human
rights, and competent state bodies.
