On June 13-14, 2023, the Human Rights Defender’s Office received
calls regarding the fact that the Azerbaijani armed forces have conducted
targeted shootings in the direction of the Yeraskh community of Ararat province
of Armenia.
The shootings were direct and targeted: civilian objects were
damaged, including the metallurgical plant which is under construction, and a
vehicle belonging to a resident of the community.
Today, on the morning of June 14, two Indian citizens were
injured due to the shootings of Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of
the plant; they were taken to a medical institution and underwent surgery.
The fact-finding activities at the Human Rights Defender’s
Office are ongoing in several directions, the Defender will publish a statement
after the results of the fact-finding activities are summarized.
