Today,
on June 9, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan received 23 students of the
8th stream of the Institute of Liberal Politics
The
meeting was held in a Q&A format. Reference was made to the issues related
to the protection of Human Rights and fundamental freedoms of public interest.
In this context, the Defender identified intolerance, the spread of hate speech
and extreme polarization.
"The
widespread of these phenomena continues to be one of the main problems in the
field of human rights protection," stated the Ombudsman.
Anahit
Manasyan also emphasized the role of people performing scientific and
educational activities, joint work with educational institutions aimed at overcoming
various problems and creating a proper environment for the observance of
ethical norms.
The
Defender also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Institute of
Liberal Politics and noted that the institution is a good platform for discussing
various topics.
She
also presented the priorities of the Human Rights Office, the activities of the
Institution, the directions of activities, the scope of competences.
