On April 25, the Human Rights Defender, Ms. Anahit Manasyan,
hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of
Estonia to Armenia, H.E. Ms. Riina Kaljurand.
Ms. Manasyan welcomed Ambassador at the Office of the Human
Rights Defender, highlighting the priorities of the Office, emphasizing the
importance of carrying out activities aimed at protecting the basic rights of
the residents of the border settlements, equality, prohibition of
discrimination, protection of women and children, exclusion of hate speech and
a number of other directions within the framework of the mandate of the
Defender.
Ambassador Ms. Riina Kaljurand, in her turn, congratulated Ms.
Anahit Manasyan on assuming the mission of the Human Rights Defender and highly
valued the spheres of priority set by the Defender, emphasizing the willingness
of the Embassy of Estonia to support the activities of the Human Rights
Defender’s Office.
