On October 11-12, a two-day joint workshop on conducting human rights compatibility reviews of legislation was held, dedicated to the capacity-building of the staff of the Office of the Human Rights Defender and the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters. The workshop was carried out with the support of the "Accountable Institutions and Human Rights Protection in Armenia" project. The project is financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Armenia, UNICEF Armenia, UNFPA Armenia, and OSCE.
The workshop aimed to develop and strengthen staff capacities in the evaluation and review functions of laws and sub-legislative normative legal acts from the point of view of guaranteeing and ensuring human rights.
The training was conducted by Ms. Alice Thomas, International Legal and Human Rights Consultant and Mr. Mirosław Wróblewski, Director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department, Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of Poland.
