On the second day of the visit to Syunik, the staff
of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, headed by the Defender Ms. Kristinne
Grigoryan hosted the Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Ms. Lila Pieters
Yahia, Head of the EU Delegation of Armenia H.E. Ms. Andrea Wiktorin,
Lithuanian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia H.E. Ms.
Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, and the UNFPA Armenia Head of Office, Ms. Tsovinar
Harutyunyan, in the regional subdivision of the Office of the Human Rights
Defender in Kapan.
The delegation members got acquainted with the work
and activities of the regional subdivision of the Office of the Human Rights
Defender in Kapan.
In the office, a meeting was also organized with Ms.
Susanna Martirosyan, President of the "Rainbow" Leaders' Educational
Center, and Mr. Armenak Davtyan, Vice President of the "In the name of
Freedom" Legal Non-Governmental Organization.
The representatives of the non-governmental
organizations presented the activities of the organizations, addressed the
current challenges, as well as proposed new programs and ideas aimed at
increasing the efficiency of the NGOs.
Then, the Defender and the delegation members had a private
meeting with the relative of the captured citizen.
After the meeting, the delegation headed for Goris.
