According to the Human Rights Defender, the serious
threats to the rights and security of our country have been:
1. The
high-ranking officials of Armenia, who stated that the Azerbaijani armed
servicemen who are deployed in the vicinity of our villages and on the roads
connecting the communities of Armenia, and their bases are in the territory of
Azerbaijan, and Armenia can do nothing to remove them.
One of the officials have
even stated that the issues of those segments of the roads can be considered
resolved without a demarcation and delimitation process.
2. With
such statements, these officials committed a gross violation of their official
status, endangering the lives of the people and other fundamental rights, and
endangering their security.
This statement also
refers to the protection of our servicemen, border guard troops, and police
servicemen protecting the population of Armenian from the criminal cats of
Azerbaijani armed servicemen.
3. The
statements of these officials legitimized the criminal acts of Azerbaijan against
the population of Armenia, created obstacles difficult to overcome for the
protection of the rights of our population, and their security.
4. These high-ranking officials have made these
statements with the intention (at least) to alleviate or avoided internal
political grievances against them.
These are classic
examples of how narrow political interests can harm the security of the country
and human rights.
5. These
high-ranking officials should understand that such statements are viewed from
the point of view that the Defender has mentioned above, and should refrain
from making such statements in the future.
No one has the right to commit acts that endanger our
rights and security.
Note: Azerbaijani armed servicemen have committed
atrocities against our compatriots- a practice they still continue. However,
the State has an obligation to protect people, and the officials have no right
to harm or hinder this process.
