A citizen asked for the
assistance of the Human Rights Defender to provide medical examinations and
treatment to all the heath problems of their son.
In particular, the mother
of the serviceman noted with her application that during the medical
examinations of the summer conscription of 2020, her son was recognized as
suitable for military service with limitations, and was conscripted into the
Armed Forces.
The applicant noted that
her son has several health issues. According to her, her son was instructed to
undergo surgery, but as a result of the start of the military operations, the
surgery did not take place.
According to the complainant,
the health condition of her son worsened after his participation in the
military operations. Moreover, her son has a high temperature, cough, and
constant weakness. The applicant stressed that it is not possible to provide
adequate medical assistant to the mentioned health issues in the location where
her son is serving, since there is the lack of doctors-experts and the needed
medical toolkit.
In relation to the issues
raised in the complaint, the Defender sent a letter to the Ministry of Defense
suggesting to check the current health situation of the serviceman, and based
on those examinations, to take the necessary steps to conduct medical
examinations and provide treatment to all his health issues.
According to the response
received from the Ministry of Defense, the serviceman was transferred to the
Central Clinical Military Hospital to receive professional examination and
treatment where all the necessary examinations and consultations of medical
specialists were performed.
As a result, the
serviceman underwent surgery.
