Unfortunately,
swearing has become a vicious phenomenon in this pre-election campaign.
Various
political forces and figures are directly swearing at each other with disgusting
words and sexual insults in public.
I am
warning you that your swear words are spreading quickly among the people; the people
are swearing at each other, and are swearing at you with the same words you
use.
There
are cases in which people complain about the swear words, and yet they are
eagerly waiting for that same curse, so they can actively spread it in their
fake and real social network pages, pretending to be a victim, and swearing
more.
At
the same time, with artificial attacks from the fake social network pages
supporting some political force or figure, they demand that the Human Rights
Defender address each swear word and assess specific cases.
In
recent days, applications for the protection of public officials have begun,
openly disregarding the fact that the Defender does not protect officials or
investigate cases of swearing between private individuals, “forgetting” that
there are law enforcement bodies and courts for these issues.
Swearing,
especially in public, increases aggression and the tensions in the society. This
conduct should not be part of the public agenda.
I
strongly urge all political forces and figures to stop the vicious behavior of
developing a public agenda of swearing and openly encouraging this conduct.
Mr.
Arman Tatoyan
The Human
Rights Defender of Armenia
