Journalists
have been presenting their complaints through alarming-calls to the Human
Rights Defender since early this morning, mentioning that they are forbidden to
approach the Sardarapat Memorial to cover the official events.
The
journalists noted that it had not been officially announced that the entrance
of the Sardarapat Memorial would be closed to them, and no explanation or
justification had been provided on the ground.
The
Human Rights Defender records, that in any case the media should be informed in
advance about the conditions of coverage as well as the restrictions of such
upcoming events, with previously published explanations and justifications.
The
society gets informed through the media about the events taking place in the
country and the work of public bodies, therefore their unhindered professional
activity must be guaranteed.
