Within
the context of the visit to Syunik region of Armenia, the President of the
Republic and the Human Rights Defender visited Davit Bek village.
A
meeting was held in the village with the Head of Kapan community, and
the Heads of Davit Bek and Kaghnut villages.
The
situation raised in the community following the September-November 2020
war was discussed.
In particular, social issues further
exacerbated due to the commencement of agricultural work: Due to the border
processes, people have been deprived of the lands or the opportunity to
cultivate them as they came under Azerbaijani control. Moreover, there are
private lands that came under the Azerbaijani control despite legal cadastral
certificates.
The
personal issues of the residents, most of which was recorded during past
visits, were discussed in detail and official procedures has already been
initiated.
The
community residents raised the issue of lack of work opportunities. It was
suggested to set down the needs in writing, to seek support within the
competence of the President of the Republic and the Human Rights Defender of
Armenia.
The
Offices of the President of Armenia and the Human Rights Defender of Armenia
will summarize the results of the joint visit and relevant steps (including
joint steps) will be undertaken according to their competences.

reminder, during the September-November 2020, the peaceful residents of Davit
Bek village suffered damages due to the attacks of the Azerbaijani armed
forces: One peaceful resident was killed, and several persons were wounded.
