Military doctors have demonstrated compassion
and special treatment to the civilians and military servicemen who have
returned from Azerbaijani captivity. All these were recorded during the visits
of the Human Rights Defender and his representatives to the hospitals.
The round-the-clock monitoring of the Human
Rights Defender's Office of these issues shows that the military doctors of the
Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia are committed to their high
humanitarian mission. This is evidenced by not only the monitoring of
Defender’s Office, but also by the citizens, who in their applications, consider
the work of our doctors to be heroic.
In numerous cases during the hostilities, they
were the last to leave the battlefield where heavy fighting took place,
providing assistance or rescuing others. The Defender recorded examples of
exceptional assistance to prisoners of war.
The high professionalism of doctors,
selflessness, and round-the-clock work should be highly appreciated by each one
of us. Their mission is humanitarian, and does not recognize any nationality.
Obviously, there are also different issues in
the field of the military medicine, the solution of which requires consistent
concrete steps. Within his mandate, the Human Rights Defender stands ready and
always supports the solution of issues that leads to the development of the
given system, and contributes to the general efforts to human rights protection.
